The Indiana Pacers reportedly regret putting Nate McMillan's awful playoff record in their press release after he was fired, per J. Michael of Indy Star.

McMillan went just 3-16 in the postseason with the Pacers and was swept in 2019 and 2020.

However, as Bobby Marks of ESPN pointed out, McMillan faced many obstacles during his Pacers run once the postseason started and he did fairly well all things considered.

The Pacers are a first-class organization. While it wasn't a good look to include Nate McMillan's paltry postseason record in the press release, it doesn't appear to be malicious.

McMillan went 183-136 with Indiana during the regular season in 319 games. As we mentioned, he went just 3-16 in the playoffs, with all three wins coming in the 2018 postseason against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

McMillan was swept by the Cavs in 2017, the Celtics in 2019 and the Miami Heat in 2020. All-Star small forward Paul George requested a trade from the Pacers in the summer of 2017 and was dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder under McMillan's watch.

Indiana received Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis for George and both players have become All-Stars with Indiana.

It will be fascinating to see who the Pacers hire to replace McMillan. The team didn't look good against the Heat in its first-round sweep at Disney World, but the absence of Sabonis contributed to that.
