Indiana Pacers center Domantas Sabonis had the luxury of learning the ropes of the game from his legendary father, the great Arvydas Sabonis. One thing the elder Sabonis must have forgotten to teach his kid, however, was how to properly execute a high five.

A high five is a simple gesture that doesn’t really take any special skill to pull off, yet somehow Domantas managed to flub one when his palm accidentally finds the face of his teammate and Pacers guard Cory Joseph during Monday's game against the Orlando Magic.

Domantas Sabonis was actually trying to give a high five to a seated Al Jefferson, but Joseph found himself in the middle of the two hulking Pacers big men and it was too late for him to dodge Sabonis’ incoming palm when he realized what was going on.

Cory Joseph could consider himself lucky, though, as he didn’t suffer any facial fractures. It would take more than a light slap in the face to get that. Just ask Nikola Mirotic.

The Pacers won the game 105-97, but we'd understand if Joseph tried to avoid exchanging high fives with Sabonis after the contest.
