According to a tweet posted late Saturday night by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Green Bay Packers (5-6) expect rookie running back Aaron Jones to be active for Sunday afternoon's game at Lambeau Field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite missing almost all of the Packers' 23-16 win over the Chicago Bears and being inactive for their past two games, Jones leads Green Bay in rushing with 370 yards on just 70 carries (5.3 yards per rushing attempt).

Jones' return from his MCL injury is very encouraging, especially with the unfortunate news of fellow Packers running back Ty Montgomery being placed on injured reserve on Friday with his lingering rib and wrist injuries.

A 2017 sixth-round pick out of UTEP, Jones will likely only get limited action during his return against the Bucs. Fellow rookie running back Jamaal Williams has taken over the bulk of the carries in Mike McCarthy's offense as of late.

In early October, Jones was arrested in Wisconsin for marijuana possession and apologized for the incident.

“I owe an apology to my family, teammates, coaches, the fans and the Packers organization,” Jones said late last month, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. “I made a mistake, and I take full responsibility for it. And it won’t happen again. I can’t speak on it because it’s an ongoing legal matter.”

The Packers, who are still without superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers due to a broken right collarbone, have lost five of their last six games and three in a row at legendary Lambeau Field.
