Aaron Jones was uncertain of where he'd be playing in the 2021 season as he entered free agency, but his mom was always knew he'd return to the Green Bay Packers. When speaking about his decision to re-sign with the Packers, Jones shared how his mom was confident about continuing his career in Green Bay. She very well may have spoken it into reality.

“My mom was telling me the whole time, ‘You’re going to end back up in Green Bay. Don’t worry about it, don’t worry about things, you’re going to end back up here,’” Jones said on Friday after finally signing the contract he agreed to almost two weeks ago, via Sports Illustrated's Bill Huber. “So, I guess Mom always knows.”

Entering free agency, Jones was considered the most coveted running back on the open market as he was expected to get a lucrative deal. There were multiple teams to express interest in Jones, but the Packers would convince Jones to stay in Green Bay after giving him a four-year, $48 million contract.

Jones has become one of the best dual-threat running backs in the NFL in recent seasons as a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. While Jones was able to stay a member of the Packers, he saw his running mate in Jamaal Williams depart in free agency in favor of the Detroit Lions.

When players hit free agency, especially in an offseason where teams had limited cap space to utilize, there can be uncertainty that creeps into their minds. But for Jones, he relied on his mom to let him know that everything was going to work out for the best, which meant returning to the Packers.
