The Green Bay Packers are still in doubt when it comes to the availability of halfback Aaron Jones ahead of Thursday.

The fourth-year running back has now been listed as questionable with his calf injury ahead of the Packers' bout with the San Francisco 49ers (via ESPN's Adam Schefter).

The Packers are already facing the severe risk of being completely depleted in the backfield on Thursday. Jamaal Williams was recently ruled out after being deemed as a close contact with A.J. Dillon, who tested positive for COVID-19. That would only leave Tyler Ervin and Dexter Williams available to play on Thursday, which allows little hope for some decent production in terms of the running game.

The hopeful outlook for the Packers is that Jones is able to play given he receives a clean bill of health. The 25-year-old has totaled 389 rushing yards off 75 carries this season for five touchdowns. He's averaging 5.2 yards per attempt as well. The Packers—more so Aaron Rodgers—would also miss his production downfield as well. Jones has tallied 161 yards from 18 targets also, resulting in two touchdowns this season.

Ervin would receive the most playing time he's seen this season in the event that Jones remains sidelined. He's currently only rushed four times for a total of 43 yards. As for Williams, he'll be called up from the practice squad to get some snaps behind Ervin as well.

The Packers are looking to bounce back after turning in an upset to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. The short turnaround in preparation time leaves them in an unfortunate predicament for Jones to return in enough time.
