Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has gotten off to a blazing start to the 2020 season and he partially credits Davante Adams for the confidence he instilled in him earlier in his career for his success.

When Jones was selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, he was entering a crowded backfield. Besides Jones, Green Bay also added Jamaal Williams in the 2017 NFL Draft in the fourth round.

Not to mention, Ty Montgomery was still seeing time in the backfield as a running back and wide receiver in the offense. Despite being the least likely running back to start, based on where he was selected, Adams told Jones he was confident he'd end up being the No. 1 back in the offense.

After having a limited role in his rookie season, Jones began to see an expanded role with the Packers in his second season. Fast forward to now and he's now one of the premier dual-threat running backs in the NFL.

Through the first three weeks, Jones has accounted for 398 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns. On top of that, the Texas-El Paso product has averaged a career-best 6.6 yards per touch so far this season.

While Jones figures to continue his dominance against the Falcons on Monday night, Adams' status for Week 4 remains up in the air. Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury that he sustained in Green Bay's victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2.
