Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers stirred up the social media masses during an appearance on ESPN's ManningCast telecast earlier this season. Rodgers, when asked what he was reading by Peyton and Eli Manning, pointed to the controversial Ayn Rand book “Atlas Shrugged”, which predictably got a reaction out of almost everyone on social media, to the delight of the Packers star. In a recent interview with ESPN, Rodgers admitted to trolling the masses during his ManningCast appearance.

“I was moving some books over and replacing some things behind me, I was like, ‘Oh dude, I could never read this book.' It's however many pages. That's how stupid this thing is. I'm reading some mentions or Twitter stuff and these people are loving me up. They're like, ‘Oh yeah, libertarian, blah, blah, blah.' I'm like, ‘What the f—?' And then the people on the other side canceled me. ‘That's kind of trashy, he's reading Ayn Rand.' I'm like, I haven't read it! And even if I did, who gives a s—? It's a book. I can read something and not immediately have it overtake my personal ideologies. And that's the problem with society, is everything is triggering and offensive. It's wild.”

Clearly, Aaron Rodgers enjoyed the reaction he was getting out of people by strategically placing a book he had never read front and center on his bookshelf for the world to see on the ManningCast showing. The Packers star got a kick out of the idea that someone can read something and have it completely become their beliefs.

The irony here is Rodgers getting mad at people for getting mad about something he planned to happen on the ManningCast show. Madness. One thing is for sure. Packers star Aaron Rodgers isn't going to stop trolling people anytime soon.
