The Green Bay Packers have officially been knocked out of playoff contention with the loss to the Carolina Panthers last week. As a result of the team no longer competing for a playoff spot, Green Bay has decided to shut down superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the rest of the season.

With Rodgers now done for the season after being placed on injured reserve, the Packers will play the final two games with Brett Hundley under center. Apparently, Rodgers' value has never been more apparent as his absence has significantly altered the betting lines, via Michael Rand of the Star Tribune.

“Vegas oddsmaker told me Aaron was worth 10-11 points on the spread; biggest line-mover in the NFL,” Brandt, an NFL columnist, tweeted.

Not only has the one-time Super Bowl champion been the “biggest line-mover” in the league, but his absence completely derailed the Packers' hopes of contending this season. Green Bay went from being a serious force to be reckoned with in the NFC to a team desperately holding onto playoff hopes.

Now that the postseason is out of the question, the Packers will try to be a spoiler for the division rival Minnesota Vikings. Green Bay can hurt the Vikings' chances of clinching a first-round bye in the playoffs if they're able to come out on top against Mike Zimmer's squad in Week 16.
