Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers came into their Week 14 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons needing a win to stay alive in the NFC playoff chase. That's right, even though the Packers were 4-7-1, they were not eliminated from playoff contention. Green Bay got the job done at Lambeau Field against the Falcons.

Not only did the Packers win, they dominated the Falcons and ended up winning by a final score of 34-20. Joe Philbin had an excellent debut as the Packers' interim head coach, even though he ran out of challenges less than two minutes into the game.

Following the game, Rodgers was asked about the Packers' “apparent” life in the NFC playoff picture. Rodgers made it clear that Green Bay feels they are still very much alive and that there is nothing “apparent” about it.

Green Bay now holds a 5-7-1 record and they also received some help today. The Cleveland Browns were able to knock off the Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the New Orleans Saints. Another big help would be the Seattle Seahawks beating the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Rodgers looked comfortable in the new offense. There were still quite a few similarities, but Philbin focused on getting the football out quicker instead of trying to take big shots down the field.

Everything being said and done, Rodgers completed 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 196 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Aaron Jones also had a good game on the ground, carrying the football 17 times for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Next up for the Packers will be a huge matchup against the Chicago Bears on the road. Green Bay has to win out in order to have a chance at the playoffs, but Rodgers isn't giving up hope yet.
