Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams are both officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers have been making it seem like Rodgers really is questionable for Sunday, but all signs still point to him playing. Mike McCarthy was asked about Rodgers and he said he is getting better, but him playing is far from a certainty.

“Aaron's getting better,” McCarthy said Friday via ESPN. “He was in the meeting this morning. I would say he feels better than he did at the beginning of the week.”

The Packers don't practice Friday but do hold a short practice on Saturday, and McCarthy said more will be known after that is completed.

“Tomorrow's practice will be a pretty big indicator,” McCarthy said “So we'll see how today goes, but nothing has changed. He's clearly in the day-to-day. Hopefully he'll be able to do work tomorrow.”

Even though McCarthy would like to see Rodgers practice some, he did say that it's not required for him to play on Sunday.

“He could play with no reps,” McCarthy added. “We've established that point some time ago in his career. So I think it's no different. You'd like to walk off the field Saturday and have your plan set, but this is the National Football League, things happen.

McCarthy also said that Rodgers wants to play, but he will do what is in the best long-term interest of the team and their franchise quarterback.
