The start of the 2018 NFL season is only a few days away with the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles set to get things underway on Thurs. Sept. 6 as they play host to the Atlanta Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field. Even though Carson Wentz won't start the season under center with Nick Foles getting the nod, he's among the top three players in the odds to win NFL MVP along with Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots superstar, Tom Brady.

According to BetOnline.ag, Rodgers is the favorite to win the regular-season award which would be his third. Brady comes in right behind the one-time Super Bowl champion with Wentz having the third-best odds.

Aaron Rodgers: 6/1

Tom Brady: 8/1

Carson Wentz: 9/1

Other notable NFL stars with favorable odds to win the MVP award include Deshaun Watson (14/1) of the Houston Texans along with Drew Brees, Jared Goff, and Russell Wilson all at 16/1.

As usual, the MVP odds are dominated by players at the quarterback position. Although the majority of the players are gunslingers, a couple running backs are in the mix as well. Todd Gurley (33/1) of the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers star Le'Veon Bell (40/1) also made the list with the best odds at their position.

It will no doubt be an interesting season for all the players mentioned with no telling how it will all pan out.
