The Green Bay Packers have a few young wide receivers on their team who could become key contributors. Among them, Marquez Valdes-Scantling is ready to make a leap forward in 2019.

Former Packers receiver James Jones spoke to Aaron Rodgers and Rodgers spoke highly of Valdes-Scantling. Rodgers is impressed with Valdes-Scantling's progression this offseason.

“I think one guy that has really jumped out, in the spring, was Marquez (Valdes-Scantling). He’s always timing really fast. Now he’s playing to his time,” Rodgers told Jones. “Marquez is starting to play with more confidence, and that’s pretty good to see.”

This is great news for Packers fans as many were calling for more opportunities for the 6-foot-4 wide receiver in 2018. Now, it seems as if Valdes-Scantling is becoming more comfortable with his timing and speed in year two.

Last year, we saw a small sample size of what Valdes-Scantling could bring to Green Bay. In his rookie season in 2018, Valdes-Scantling had 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns. Not too shabby for a fifth-round pick from South Florida.

Throughout the year, fans got to witness the potential that Valdes=Scantling could have in this offense. He and Geronimo Allison are trying to earn consistent roles in the offense alongside Davante Adams.

This offseason, everyone will need to grasp Matt LaFleur's new offense—including Valdes-Scantling. LaFleur would love to have a big-sized target like Valdes-Scantling become a weapon for the offense.

The Packers second-year wideout is hoping to become an every-down receiver though in 2019.

He's gotten off to a great start, with Aaron Rodgers taking notice.
