Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been dealing with a toe injury, though you couldn't really tell he was injured in a dominant showing against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Still, the broken toe has been bothering the Packers star, and it seems there's a good chance he undergoes surgery, per NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.

However, this is actually a good thing. Since the Packers have a bye week coming up, Rodgers could undergo the surgery and fix up this issue without actually missing any time. He then wouldn't have to worry about dealing with problems the rest of the season:

While it's not guaranteed that Rodgers will undergo surgery, it seems to be the likely option at this point once doctors examine him. Based on Rap's report, it also seems like the smart option with the upcoming bye.

There was a bit of drama involving Rodgers' injury after he made a joke about having “COVID toe,” but it turns out he just has a broken toe that has been rather painful. Getting that fixed up now so Rodgers can be in top shape for the stretch run makes a lot of sense.

The Packers flexed their muscles as Super Bowl contenders on Sunday with a 36-28 victory over the Rams, who have now lost three games in a row after starting 7-1. Rodgers completed 28 out of 45 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Green Bay is now 9-3 on the season and in full control of the NFC North. The goal now is to get Rodgers healthy and earn home-field advantage in the NFC.
