Over the last few months, the Green Bay Packers' offseason has been clouded by persistent talk surrounding star quarterback Aaron Rodgers' contract situation.

It remains an underlying discussion that has only grown louder the longer he has gone without a new extension in place. This includes a report stating Rodgers is demanding an opt-out clause in his next contract.

With that in mind, Rodgers shut down the notion that he's concerned with his contract at this current juncture, according to Bill Huber of 247 Sports.

“I don’t talk about it to the media and I don’t think my agent is, either,” Rodgers said after Monday’s organized team activity. “A lot of it is just conjecture and stories that aren’t really based in factual interactions or (are) misrepresented (inter)actions. I think that’s just part of it. It’s kind of a slow period for football right now and we’re heading into the summer, when there’s not much to talk about unless somebody gets arrested or injured in the offseason or something happens on the Fourth of July. That’s usually stories you get from now until training camp. I don’t have anything to report at this point but I’m sure there will be some unnamed sources close to me that have some sort of scoop along the way.”

The lack of public discussion by Rodgers could mean the two sides are hedging toward a new deal done that has more than guaranteed than the $100 million that former league MVP Matt Ryan received in his five-year, $150 million extension. The 34-year-old has more than established himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the league.

Rodgers currently has two years left on his five-year, $110 million deal that runs through the 2019 campaign. He continues to voice a strong desire to both finish his career with Green Bay and play well into his 40's, if he's given the chance to do so.
