Cedric Benson, a former NFL running back that played with the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, and Green Bay Packers, passed away over the weekend after crashing on his motorcycle. His death has left a void in the lives of many people, including his former teammate, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Even though the two were only teammates for a short period of time, Rodgers and Benson became good friends. Following the news of Benson's passing, Rodgers took to his Instagram account to share a touching tribute to his friend and former teammate.

Benson had a very successful football career and played on season in Green Bay. He played five games with the Packers, rushing for 248 yards and a touchdown 71 carries.

Before his time with the Packers, Benson had successful stints with the Bears and Bengals. He finished his career with 1,600 carries for 6,017 yards and 32 touchdowns. Benson also caught 120 passes for 833 yards and a touchdown.

Standing in at 5-foot-11 and between 220 and 230 pounds, Benson was an absolute workhorse. Opposing defenses had difficulty game-planning against him because of his ability to break tackles and continue picking up yards. Benson was a great talent and it is heartbreaking to see him gone so soon.

Rodgers isn't the only player that is feeling a great loss with the passing of Benson. It is still cool to see him share a touching message to his former teammate, especially for fans that had no clue how close the two became in just one year.
