For the first time since the 2020 NFL Draft, Aaron Rodgers spoke to the media on Friday afternoon. While answering questions from the media, Rodgers revealed that he ‘wasn't thrilled' with the Green Bay Packers drafting Jordan Love.

“I was watching the draft feed with A.J. Hawk and Pat McAfee, and my first reaction was surprise,” he said, via Doug Farrar of the PackersWire. “I wasn’t thrilled by the pick. obviously, but the organization is thinking about the present and the future, obviously. He is such a talent that they wanted to move up and get him.

It was inevitable that there were going to be questions that pertained to Green Bay drafting Love in the first round. Just as expected, Rodgers wasn't originally a fan of the pick, but understood where the Packers were coming from.

Of course, in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers held the No. 30 pick. Instead of staying put to select an offensive skill player, Green Bay traded up to the No. 26 pick to select Love out of Utah State.

Upon Love's selection, many were led to believe that the Packers made the choice to take Love to eventually replace Rodgers. Even though Rodgers has shown no interest in ending his career elsewhere, Green Bay could force his hand with the addition of Love. Brett Favre, who spoke to Rodgers, believes he'll end his career with another team than the Packers.

Nevertheless, Rodgers is entering his second season with Matt LaFleur and he hopes to prove everyone that he can still play at an elite level in 2020. At the same time, it's safe to say that deep down, the decision to select Love is going to motivate Rodgers more than ever.
