Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is extremely impressed with what he's seen from rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Alexander, who was drafted with the No. 18 overall pick in this year's draft, is coming off one of his best performances of the season by racking up 10 tackles in the 34-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He now has 59 combined tackles on the season to go along with one interception, and while the Packers have had their struggles, he's shown plenty of potential in his first season in the NFL.

And Rodgers is one of the people that has taken notice.

From Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette:

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers says he's been impressed with what rookie CB Jaire Alexander has done this season: “I think he’s going to be a star in this league, but more than that he’s got a really good work ethic and a great attitude, loves football.”

With Green Bay heading into a new era, it would obviously be ideal for the new coaching staff to be able to rely on young players like Alexander in order to build for the future. However, with Rodgers still under center, it's clear that winning now will be a top priority as well.

The Packers have an outside shot at reaching the playoffs, but it will take a lot of help elsewhere for that to happen. Green Bay will return to the field on Sunday for a showdown in Chicago with the Bears, who coming off a huge win over the Los Angeles Rams.
