Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly sitting out practice on Thursday. Last week, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said that he would be comfortable starting Rodgers against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, even if he didn't practice all week. Sure enough, Rodgers did start and played the whole game in a 29-29 tie against the Vikings this past Sunday. He says his knee's condition hasn't changed, but the Packers will be cautious.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Rodgers will be working with the rehab group today. The Packers are likely utilizing the same protocol that allowed him to play last week. It is possible that he may practice again on Saturday, the day before their Week 3 matchup with the Washington Redskins.

It was evident that Rodgers didn't have his normal mobility at his disposal on Sunday. Even still, he completed 30 of 42 passing attempts for a score. This put Mason Crosby in a position to kick the game-winning field goal in the closing minutes of regulation. Crosby made his first try, but it came after a Vikings timeout in an attempt to freeze him. Their strategy worked, helping send the game into overtime.

Aaron Rodgers has been the face of the franchise for a decade. He recognizes that and will continue to do everything he can to keep his team in the hunt for a Super Bowl. The 2-month timetable doctors set for his recovery is an afterthought. The team will hope his mobility returns gradually with each week for now.
