Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos will be taking on his former Chicago Bears team this Thursday when the Packers battle the Bears at Soldier Field, six months after Amos signed with Green Bay via free agency.

Chicago typically awards its top young players with contract extensions, but it was not able to strike a deal with Amos.

While Amos was disappointed, he says he doesn't harbor any ill will toward his former club:

“Of course you feel [disrespected], but it’s not hard feelings. I don’t hold any grudges or anything,” Amos said, according to Mark Potash of The Chicago Sun-Times. “Throughout my career when you feel like you’re not getting the respect you deserve, there’s feeling there. But when it’s all said and done, none of that matters. It’s not like I’m going to [stick it to general manager Ryan] Pace or anything like that.”

Amos, who played his collegiate football at Penn State, was originally selected by the Bears in the fifth round (142nd pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He immediately was named a starter in Chicago's secondary, tallying 67 tackles and a sack during his rookie campaign.

The 26-year-old then went on to become one of the better safeties in the league, most recently registering 73 tackles, a sack, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery and nine passes defended in 2018.

So, how will Amos feel when he returns to the Windy City as a visitor on Thursday night?

“When I get on the field there may be some emotion,” Amos said. “But as of right now … there’s a lot more things I’m focused on and adjusting to right now, as far as playing with this new team, jelling with my new teammates and getting my first opportunity to be on the field. That’s where my mind is right now.”

Amos' Packers will battle the Bears at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
