Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre currently find himself in trouble. The Green Bay Packers legend might owe a lot of money. Favre apparently received over $1.1 million in various payments to make appearances that he did not ultimately follow through on.

It is also worth noting that remains to be seen as to whether Brett Favre has already paid the money back or plans to at some point.

“Money meant to help poor Mississippians was instead used to buy expensive cars, sponsor a college baseball tournament, hire family members of a top state official and pay Brett Favre for speeches he never gave, according to a new report from State Auditor Shad White,” via the Clarion Ledger.

“The 104-page audit of the Mississippi Department of Human Services released Monday shows how federal welfare grant funds flowed from DHS into two nonprofits, which then frequently spent the cash in inappropriate or suspicious ways.”

The 50-year-old Brett Favre, a legend of the game from his time spent as a member of the aforementioned Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets, has not played in the NFL since back in 2009.

Spending the majority of his career as a member of the heralded Packers, Brett Favre notably won a Super Bowl title and tallied three first-team All-Pro nods during his time spent suiting up in green and yellow.

Brett Favre is also an 11-time Pro Bowler and AP Offensive Player of the Year Award winner.
