The past 24 hours have been rough for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The 37-year old QB failed to lead his team against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC Championship, which means that his 48-touchdown season has come to an end.

After the tough 31-26 loss against the Bucs on Sunday, Rodgers seemingly put his future in question after his post-game remarks spun the rumor mill like crazy. Brett Favre, though, isn't really giving it much thought.

Per the Packers icon and Hall of Famer, that was just Rodgers' emotion talking.

“I wouldn’t pay much attention to it,” Favre said in an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio (h/t NBC Sports). “I think frustration, disappointment, hurt, pain, all were in that soundbite.”

Per Favre, Aaron Rodgers' ex-Packers teammate, it seems almost unthinkable that the former Super Bowl champ will be heading out of Green Bay just like that. Rodgers had an amazing 2020 campaign and is even favorite to win his third MVP trophy. He and his team were just a play or two away from booking their trip to Super Bowl LV.

“Look, there’s no way the Packers would do anything to jeopardize losing Aaron [Rodgers], unless Aaron just chooses to retire, which I would be shocked. The guy’s playing better now than he’s ever played, and without him, you certainly wouldn’t have been even close to where you were [Sunday]. And I think the same will go for next year, and really the next few years, if he chooses to play. I wouldn’t pay much attention to what he said. I’ve been there. It’s so — I mean, it hurts. It’s painful. The last thing you want to do is think about next year, because you just had a major disappointment, and that’s what you’re hearing in that soundbite.” Favre added.

Favre is indeed talking from experience and Packers fans are praying that he is right and that Rodgers hasn't played his last game at Lambeau Field.
