The Aaron Rodgers trade rumblings continue to trickle out from all angles. Among all the voices spouting their opinions, some key insights were recently shared from the man Rodgers replaced in Green Bay – Packers icon Brett Favre.

Brett divulged his text exchange with the present-day Packers quarterback, revealing that he's at least not going to be asked to be traded to the New Orleans Saints. While the conversation didn't necessarily reveal any direction coming from Rodgers, Favre wasn't bashful in sharing his own prediction for whether his heir apparent would stay or leave.

“I think I know Aaron fairly well,” Favre said, “and honestly I just don’t see him coming back and just saying, ‘All right, let’s just bury the hatchet, whatever caused the rift, and I’m just going to come back and play because I love the guys, I love the Green Bay fans’ — I assume he does — but his rift isn’t with the fans or the players. It’s with the front office. Will he just swallow his pride and come in? Maybe. But I don’t see that happening.”

The Hall-of-Famer is so convinced that the relationship is irreparable that Rodgers would choose to sit out games, and forfeit salary in the process, than to continue suiting up for the Packers.

“If there’s not a trade, my gut tells me that he’d rather sit out than play. That’s just my gut,” Favre said. “There’s no reason for me to say that other than that’s what my gut’s telling me, and I think you guys know Aaron fairly well enough to sort of feel the same way.”

One thing's for certain in all of this. The Aaron Rodgers rumors will continue to spread up until the Packers remedy the situation, one way or another.
