The NFL released its schedule last Wednesday, and not every team was happy with their draw. The Green Bay Packers were likely happy just to be talking about football again after all the off-field drama they've had recently, but that doesn't mean they were without their gripes.

Speaking at his pre-draft press conference, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said there's a couple of tweaks he would like to make, per Brian Jones of 247Sports. Most importantly, Gutekunst said he wished Green Bay had more home games later in the year. “Interesting how heavy we are at home early,” he said.

“There will be a lot of nice-weather games early on,” Gutekunst said. “I do feel like for the team we are trying to build, we would have liked to have those December games here but it is what it is,” he explained.

When the Packers host teams later in the year, the weather can often be brutal.

Many of those visiting teams aren't used to playing in the freezing cold at Lambeau Field, which can provide a pretty big advantage for the Packers. Gutekunst's comments about the type of team they're trying to build suggest they're looking to re-install a gritty culture into the team.

The Packers are heading into the first year of the Matt LaFleur era, and are looking to re-inject some energy into the franchise after things got stale under Mike McCarthy. The Packers play five of their first seven games at home, meaning six of their last nine will be on the road.
