This should signal that this should no longer linger on as he will be a full go once training camp starts this month as he's expected to once again be a major piece of the puzzle for the Packers defensively. Matthews is coming off a productive 2017 campaign where he recorded 7.5 sacks with 44 total tackles, a forced fumble, and two pass deflections in 14 games played. Although his production has taken a dip over the last few seasons, he is still widely respected as being a highly effective pass rusher that can be a game-changing factor.

Matthews is currently heading into the final year of his five-year, $66 million deal where he will make $10.4 million for the 2018 campaign. Throughout his career, he has been a mainstay defensively for the Packers racking up 80.0 sacks, 440 tackles, 14 forced fumbles and six interceptions in his first nine seasons in the league. This has seen him rack up six Pro Bowl selections, a First-Team All-Pro nod, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.
