The Green Bay Packers appear to be facing a roadblock before the season even starts. Undrafted rookie linebacker Curtis Bolton has impressed in camp, but now they might be without his services for some time.

On Thursday, the Packers played their preseason Week 3 game against the Oakland Raiders. Bolton left that game early and was seen in crutches and a knee brace after the game.

Bolton may have been an undrafted rookie this year, but he was carving out a decent-sized role. That's especially true considering other injuries on the roster.

Now the Packers will have to find out what to do if the injury is serious enough, including looking at the free-agent linebackers currently available.

Sadly for the Packers, this wasn't the only injury that hit them on Thursday. Rookie Rashan Gary and wide receivers Equanimous St. Brown and Allen Lazard both left the game early as well.

For Bolton, the injury is devastating though. Even if it's not all that serious, this could seriously derail his momentum. If the Packers need to sign someone (even just for a few weeks) it could mean Bolton's losing his spot in the rotation.

Hopefully, the Packers get the news quickly on Bolton, and it comes back as something positive. It's great to see anyone succeeding, but it's always a little extra special when it's an undrafted talent.

Curtis Bolton has shown so far that he can be a solid piece and there's no reason to believe he can't have a fantastic career. Hopefully, this injury doesn't change the direction of his career with the Green Bay Packers or in the NFL as a whole.
