The Green Bay Packers were forced to place rookie safety Darnell Savage on the non-football illness list yesterday, which caused a lot of concern within the fan base. Fortunately, it appears that everything is fine and that Savage will be returning to the field at some point in the near future.

According to a report from Packers Wire, Savage had to have his wisdom teeth pulled and is being forced to miss some time due to the oral surgery.

Savage is set to have a big role in his rookie season with the Packers. Green Bay made it a point to improve their defense this offseason, drafting Savage and signing fellow safety Adrian Amos away from the Chicago Bears to fill out their safety positions. The two are going to be massive upgrades for the team.

Mike Pettine has to be excited to see what Savage brings to the field. He has top-notch speed, great playmaking abilities, and awesome instincts as well. The sky is the limit for the Packers' new safety.

Green Bay is set to open training camp with big goals for the 2019 season. After missing the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, the Packers are not going to settle for mediocrity any longer. Matt LaFleur has replaced Mike McCarthy as the team's head coach and they have a lot more talent on their roster.

Expect to see Savage re-join the Packers on the practice field on the near future. Once his mouth heals up, he will hit the ground running and bring a lot of excitement to the Green Bay defense.
