There has been plenty of speculation regarding whether or not Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams would be able to make his return in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers. It appears pregame warm-ups have gone as planned.

The Packers have officially announced that Adams will be active against the Chargers, via Twitter:

Adams had been sidelined since Week 4 while dealing with turf toe. Although Green Bay was optimistic about his status after being a limited participant in practice all week, they were hesitant to confirm if he would be back and he was listed as questionable. Fortunately, it seems he will finally be able to make his return.

It is safe to say that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is certainly happy to have his No. 1 option in the passing game back at his disposal. Adams had served as the focal point of the offense to start the 2019 NFL season and was in the midst of a 10-catch, 180-yard performance against the Philadelphia Eagles before suffering the injury. Rodgers will be looking to help him pick up where he left off against a porous Chargers secondary.

Although Adams' absence left a notable void in the receiving corps, it did essentially force this offense to emphasize getting their run game going. As a result, they now rely on a much more balanced approach than they did earlier in the year. It will be interesting to see if Adams can get his first touchdown o the 2019 campaign in his first game back.
