Davante Adams took over the No. 1 wide receiver role for the Green Bay Packers this season after the team parted ways with Jordy Nelson. Over the past couple of seasons, Adams has been slowly progressing towards this point and he has been extremely productive.

Throughout the first four games of the 2018 season with the Packers, Adams has caught 28 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, his status for Week 5 might be in jeopardy.

According to a report from Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Adams was forced out of practice due to a calf injury Wednesday and has been held out of Thursday's session.

Green Bay has had quite a few injury issues this season with the wide receiving corps. Randall Cobb was forced to miss last week with a hamstring injury and Geronimo Allison is also dealing with a concussion. If Adams, Cobb, and Allison all can't go, the Packers will be forced to turn to rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown, and J'Mon Moore at wideout.

Aaron Rodgers needs most of his weapons this week. The Green Bay offense already struggled a bit last week in a 22-0 win over the Buffalo Bills. Some would find that surprising, but Rodgers was very unhappy following the game.

Rodgers made his thoughts known in a press conference that was shared by Bill Huber of 247 Sports.

“I’m also a realist. That’s just not acceptable offense for us. We were terrible on offense. I don’t think it made a difference for the offense. Maybe a jolt to the defense a little bit, as I can take credit for their first shutout since 2010.”

Hopefully, Adams will be available to play this week. A calf injury is a bit of a concern, but Adams is a tough player and will do everything he can to get ready for Week 5 vs. the Lions.
