Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is working through his second stint in the NFL's concussion protocol this season.

According to Mike Spofford of Packers.com, head coach Mike McCarthy indicated on Wednesday that Adams is still in the concussion process and is frustrated with having to go through it again.

“He’s pissed off, he’s irritated, he’s angry,” McCarthy said of Adams. “He wants to be out there. He’s our best perimeter player. He was knocked out of the game at a critical time in the game and now he can’t play. It’s only natural. He’s irritated that he’s in this spot.”

Adams suffered a blow to the head on a blindside hit from Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis during this past Sunday's 31-24 loss, concussing him for the second time in just a few weeks. Davis has since apologized for his actions after the 24-year-old took to Twitter to vent out his disappointment with the situation.

If Adams is unable to give it a go, the Packers will likely rely more heavily on Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson in the passing game. Backup Brett Hundley is set to start again with Aaron Rodgers placed on the season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday.

Adams has put together another highly productive campaign, leading Green Bay with 74 catches for 885 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns through 14 games. He is set to become a free agent this offseason and will likely become one of the most pursued players on the open market at his position.
