The Green Bay Packers seemingly avoided catastrophe after it was revealed that the injury suffered by wide receiver Davante Adams was not deemed to be too serious. Regardless, it appears he could still be slated to miss their star-studded showdown with the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

Adams is currently dealing with turf toe following the team's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, he was among the notable players missing from practice.

Davante Adams (toe) was not in uniform today but did some very light work off to the side as medical staffers looked on. CB Kevin King (groin) and Tony Brown (hamstring) rehabbed off to the side. So did OLB Kyler Fackrell (unknown injury). No sign of RB Jamaal Williams (concussion).

Adams' absence from practice should hardly come as any surprise. Even if the injury is not expected to be too severe, the Packers will likely still take a cautious approach with his recovery since it is still early in the 2019 NFL season. The onus will now be on making sure there are no lingering effects.

Adams' activity throughout the week will give a much more clear indication of his status against Dallas. Regardless, it may be safe to assume that he will sit this one out to avoid any further aggravation of the injury.

The absence of their All-Pro wideout will undoubtedly leave a notable void in the Packers' receiving corps in Week 5. He has served as quarterback Aaron Rodgers' most trusted target this season by a wide margin. As a result, there is quite the drop-off between Adams and the other wideouts on the roster.

It will undoubtedly be interesting to see which of these young players are able to step up with Adams sidelined.
