With Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams not making much progress on contract extension talks, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has an eye on reuniting with his former Fresno State teammate. Carr recently said he plans to put a ā€œfull-court pressā€ on Adams in case he becomes available as a free agent after the 2021 season.

Adams has now responded to Carr's comments, and the Packers star naturally brushed them off to say he's focused on the upcoming season with Green Bay.

Via Evan Webeck of the Bay Area News Group:

ā€œWell, I mean, Iā€™m a Packer, so I canā€™t really get too far ahead on that,ā€ Adams said. ā€œWhen the season ends and if nothingā€™s figured out, then maybe weā€™ll have something to talk about. But those are cautious waters, so I canā€™t really dabble in that now.ā€

Adams was never going to address this in any other way, unless he was feeling really spicy. But there's enough spiciness going on with the Packers right now given the whole Aaron Rodgers situation, so the wide receiver didn't want to stir the pot.

The 28-year-old is entering the final season of a four-year extension signed in 2017. Adams has been one of the best receivers in the NFL and is coming off a career year in which he caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards and a league-best 18 touchdowns. Green Bay went 13-3 and reached the NFC Championship Game, only to lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field.

Adams would surely love to get a new deal done with with the Packers before the 2021 season. But until that happens, there will surely be speculation about his future. Carr would love to have Adams as a target once again, though there are question marks about his own future in Las Vegas.
