Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) remains unsure about his availability for the team's Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints on “Sunday Night Football.”

The star wideout did not practice on Wednesday, and believes it's “too early” to make any major decisions.

“It's too early to tell,” Adams told the team's official website. “It's feeling better. I think we're making good progress every day. But we're just going to wait it out and see…It'll probably be a decision that's made later in the week most likely, just to get a full assessment, give me the full amount of time I need to get right, to a real comfortable spot.”

Adams was forced to exit Green Bay's 42-21 Week 2 win against the Detroit Lions during the third quarter with the hamstring issue. He had three receptions for 36 yards.

In Week 1, Adams was the focal point of the Packers' dominant performance over the Minnesota Vikings. Aaron Rodgers was red hot in the 43-34 road win, and he looked for Adams all day. The sixth-year wideout had 14 catches on 17 targets, good for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

If the Packers (2-0) are forced to take on the Saints' D without Adams, Rodgers will rely upon Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Malik Taylor. Rodgers could also lean on tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan. (New Orleans may be without their top receiver, too, as Michael Thomas continues to nurse an ankle injury.)

Rodgers can also just hand the ball to Aaron Jones, who rushed for 168 yards and two scores on 18 carries against Detroit. Jones added 68 receiving yards and a third score through the air.

In 12 games in 2019, Adams tallied 83 receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns, and he entered 2020 as the only player in football to accrue at least 4,000 receiving yards and catch 40 TD's over the last four seasons. In the four games he missed with turf toe, the Packers surprisingly went 4-0.

“Yeah, man, they don't need me,” Adams cracked on Wednesday. “They don't need me. That's what it boils down to. It just shows our guys are mentally tough enough to be able to step up.”

The Packers offense hopes to achieve similar success if No. 17 can't go on Sunday, but they'd certainly rather have him—even if Adams is unable to practice during the week.

“If he doesn't practice, I would feel completely comfortable if he wakes up Sunday morning and says, ‘I'm going to play…” Rodgers said. “If he does [feel ready] by Sunday, shoot I want him out there and I don't care if he practices at all.”
