The Green Bay Packers continue to be bitten by the injury bug in training camp. This time, it’s left tackle David Bakhtiari’s turn as he was carted off into the locker room after suffering a left ankle injury during practice, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

“I think he said he got his foot caught underneath him,” Packers left guard Lane Taylor said per Demovsky. “Not 100 percent sure, but I'm sure he'll be fine. I'm sure he'll ice it, evaluate it tomorrow. I'm not a doctor, so … hope he's OK. I feel like it'll be all right. So we'll see tomorrow.”

While Packers coach Mike McCarthy didn’t indicate the severity of the injury, the sense from the locker room is that the injury is not too serious, per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Bakhtiari, 26, has been a stalwart of the Packers’ offensive line since being drafted in the fourth round by Green Bay in 2013. He’s started in all 74 games he’s played in his five seasons with the team and has also been named second-team All-Pro twice.

Kyle Murphy took over at left tackle after Bakhtiari went down. The Packers were also starting Jason Spriggs at right tackle with regular starter Bryan Bulaga still on his way back from knee surgery.

The Packers have already had their share of bad injury luck in camp. They lost starting linebacker Jake Ryan for the year after he tore his ACL. Safety Kentrell Brice was also carted off in practice, but his injury wasn’t that serious. Hopefully, Bakhtiari’s ankle problem turns out to be a relatively minor one as well.
