The Green Bay Packers have made significant changes this offseason. Despite those changes, running back Aaron Jones is poised for a big 2019 NFL season.

Jones has long been on the cusp of a breakout year. ESPN is predicting solid production from him next season:

2019 Stat Predictions

202 carries, 962 yards, 4.8 yards per carry, seven touchdowns.

44 receptions, 346 yards, one touchdown

The prospect of Jones reaching 1,000 yards rushing is not too far-fetched. He has proven to be one of the more efficient backs in the league despite his small sample size. He finished the 2018 campaign with 728 yards and eight touchdowns on 133 carries while tacking on 26 receptions for 206 yards and a touchdown. Perhaps even more impressive is that he managed to do it in just eight games after dealing with a suspension that delayed his start to the year, and a knee injury that ultimately finished it.

It is no secret that the Packers have made major changes this offseason with the arrival of new head coach Matt LaFleur. Earlier this offseason, LaFleur already indicated that he would like to take a more balanced approach on offense rather than relying solely on the heroics of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This could result in a lot more work for Jones and the rest of the backfield.

He will likely continue to split carries with running back Jamaal Williams. However, Jones has proven to be the more electrifying option of the two. He will have an opportunity to take on a workhorse role in a Packers offense that wants more firepower.
