Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison played in just five games this past season due to a myriad of injuries, but he is hoping the Packers decide to give him another chance in 2019.

“I see it, like in different articles out there, so at times it crosses my mind,” Allison said, according to Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But for the most part I just try to stay in the moment and consistently understand that this is my home and I’m here. I’ve been doing well. I’m active in the community. My teammates love me. The organization loves me around here. So I’m happy here. It seems like they’re happy to have me here. I’ve been productive since I’ve been here, so I’m hoping to continue to be here.”

Allison appeared to be on the way to having a solid season in 2018, as he had hauled in 20 receptions for 303 yards and a couple of touchdowns before a concussion halted him. He then dealt with a hamstring issue and finally saw his season end due to a torn adductor muscle.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Illinois, went undrafted but landed with the Packers in 2016, where we caught 12 passes for 202 yards and two scores in 10 games.

Then, in 2017, Allison snared 23 balls for 253 yards.

Green Bay is coming off of a season in which it went just 6-9-1, marking the first time since 2006 that the Packers missed the playoffs in back-to-back campaigns.

The Packers ended up firing head coach Mike McCarthy midseason and replaced him with Matt LaFleur in January.
