The 2019 NFL Draft just recently ended but that doesn't mean the NFL isn't thinking ahead. The Green Bay Packers are aiming to host the 2022 NFL Draft in Wisconsin.

According to the Packers president and CEO, Mark Murphy, Green Bay has applied to host the draft in 2022 or years beyond then. Murphy went on the Wilde and Tausch show on ESPN to discuss the Packers future plans to host the draft.

Murphy states that 2022 is a good time because the Packers will have a new expo hall that will help host thousands of fans. The expo hall is not done yet but the Packers CEO/President said it is an integral part of their bid.

This past draft that concluded a few days ago took place in Nashville, Tennessee and the atmosphere seemed great. Next year, the 2020 NFL Draft is expected to take place in Las Vegas before the Oakland Raiders make their move there.

Franchise's love hosting the draft as it brings in extra revenue to the city but it also brings attention to their respective cities. Not many are more passionate about football than Green Bay.

The draft is a time where fans in the hosting city can bleed their team's colors to show the world how much they love their team. People come from all over the world, covered in paint of their team's colors and wearing memorabilia.

Green Bay has been a city that has sported a winning football team until recent seasons. That could very well change in 2019 with newly hired Matt LaFleur at head coach. When the Packers possibly host the 2022 draft or beyond, fans will be hoping they are a successful team when the time rolls around.
