On Monday morning, Peter King of NBC Sports reported that a couple of teams thought the Houston Texans could potentially trade wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Now, we seem to have a specific rumor. During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Michael Lombardi of The Athletic said that the Green Bay Packers could be one of the teams interested in acquiring Hopkins.

Hopkins has three years and $40 million remaining on his deal, making him very tradeable. Also, the Texans would only take a $3 million cap hit if they do move him.

Of course, trading Hopkins is probably still a long shot for Houston, given the fact that it would certainly hurt Deshaun Watson's growth and that the Texans are in win-now mode.

However, Houston is starving for draft picks and has ample needs up and down the roster. If the Texans were to trade Hopkins to the Packers for a haul, they would obviously have more means to plug those holes.

Then again, the 2020 draft class is considered one of the deepest ever for wide outs, which could hinder Hopkins' value. Plus, while Hopkins put up big numbers in 2019, hauling in 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns, he wasn't quite as dominant as he had generally been from 2015 through 2018.

Hopkins entered the NFL as a first-round pick of Houston's back in 2013 and has made four Pro Bowl appearances while earning three First-Team All-Pro selections.

Even though it's probably not going to happen, just imagine the potential duo of Hopkins and Davante Adams in Green Bay? My goodness.
