The Green Bay Packers have cut running back Kapri Bibbs, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

The Packers originally acquired Bibbs off waivers from the Washington Redskins back in December. He proceeded to play in two games for Green Bay this past season, carrying the ball just once.

In 2018 overall, Bibbs appeared in 12 contests and logged 103 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Bibbs, who played his collegiate football at Colorado State, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Denver Broncos in 2014. He did not play at all during his first season and saw just one game of action in 2015, and in 2016, he carried the ball 29 times for 129 yards.

That marked the end of his tenure with the Broncos, as Bibbs went on to join the Redskins in 2017, where he totaled 79 rushing yards off of 21 attempts.

The Packers' running game will be led by Aaron Jones in 2019, with third-year back Jamaal Williams and rookie sixth-round pick Dexter Williams likely serving as the backups.

Green Bay's rushing attack ranked just 22nd in the NFL this past season, so the Packers are hoping for a healthier season out of Jones and some production from the Williamses as they try to get back into playoff contention.

The Packers are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they went just 6-9-1, marking the first time since 2006 that they missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

As a result of Green Bay's recent struggles, the Packers fired long-time head coach Mike McCarthy toward the end of this past season and replaced him with Matt LaFleur this offseason.
