The Green Bay Packers haven't been at their best the past couple of season, but that doesn't mean their fans aren't still extremely loyal. Even with all the drama surrounding the team recently, Packers fans are going to be among the most committed in the league.

The expose about feuds between Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy as well as alleged dysfunction in the front office aren't going to stop Green Bay fans from being diehards. Mike Tanier of Bleacher Report recently ranked each NFL team's fanbase, and the Packers checked in at number three.

“Packers fans are the NFL's Notre Dame fans, a national patchwork of supporters who follow the team for cultural, historic or philosophical reasons. Rooting for the Packers is like rooting for a Platonic ideal of football as a small-town, locally financed civic institution,” Tanier wrote.

“In most stadiums outside of the NFC North, visiting fans in Packers jerseys are tolerated and even deferentially respected, much like Amish buggies trotting down state highways. But all the Americana trappings in the world cannot change the fact that Packers fans on the internet were as annoying as all heck when they used to complain incessantly after 10-6 seasons.”

While some fans might quibble with the characterizations, ranking third certainly isn't bad. It's nearly impossible to get Packers season tickets unless you want to wait on a waiting list for decades, and fans from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Lambeau Field every year.
