The Green Bay Packers have begun their search for their next head coach and reports are beginning to come out about candidates that they are interested in. As Clutch Points has previously noted, Jim Caldwell was one of the first to interview for the job. Now, former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has also been reported to be a potential candidate for the job.

According to a report from Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers have shown interest in Pagano as their next head coach. The report mentions former connections between Pagano and both Mike Pettine and Joe Philbin.

Green Bay fans are not going to be happy with the names that are coming out so far as potential candidates for the Packers. Neither Caldwell or Pagano is the type of head coach that the Packers' fans want.

Pagano had some success with the Colts before ending his tenure with the team in rough fashion. He is not known as an offensive mind, but is a players coach that is a great motivator. Two of his biggest weaknesses in Indianapolis were having his teams prepared to start games and playing not to lose too often.

Aaron Rodgers and company are in need of a major overhaul from an offensive scheme standpoint. Neither Caldwell or Pagano would be able to bring that to Green Bay.

Needless to say, it will be interesting to see what other names end up being mentioned as potential candidates. Caldwell and Pagano are two candidates who are not currently busy coaching. Green Bay is not going to rush into a decision and fans should relax a bit.

Expect to hear more news come out about the Packers' coaching search, but for now, Pagano is certainly a name of interest.
