The Green Bay Packers could use some additional fire power on offense and that might come into fruition in the form of adding a veteran running back.

According to a recent report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Packers are currently showing interest in New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram, who is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

However, the Packers are not the only team showing interest in Ingram's services as Green Bay might have to compete against their arch rival in the Chicago Bears, who are also being linked to the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout.

The Packers were heavily linked to former Pittsburgh Steelers and current Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown, which appeared to be the way that Green Bay would be upgrading on offense. Now, with Brown on his way from Pittsburgh to Oakland, the NFC North franchise will be forced to look elsewhere, which could come in the form of Ingram.

Even if Green Bay does manage to sign Ingram, it is no secret that the Packers need to add another wide out at some point this offseason.

On the other hand, the Saints could ultimately bring Ingram back to pair him with the up-and-coming Alvin Kamara, as the two have formed quite the two-headed monster for New Orleans. However, this could be the same reason that the Saints choose to let Ingram find work elsewhere as Kamara appears to be the real deal and could carry a larger workload going forward.
