With Hurricane Ida hitting New Orleans, the Packers and Saints have officially moved their Week 1 matchup to Jacksonville, per The New Orleans Times. The game will be played at the same time slot as well, with kick-off scheduled for 1:25 PM PST.

Saints owner Gayle Benson released a statement on the decision to move this Packers contest:

““It is never easy to make a decision that involves not playing a Saints home game in the Caesars Superdome, but I am confident that this is the right decision for our city at this juncture,”Benson said. “Collectively, we have a monumental task ahead of us in cleaning up the after effects left by Hurricane Ida, but it has been inspiring to see people getting right to work and starting the process.”

The Packers and Saints explored other possible venues, such as Atlanta and Houston, but both stadiums are hosting NFL games already on September 12th. The Jaguars are actually in Texas that day visiting the Texans so it worked out perfectly for New Orleans.

The Saints are 1-1 in the preseason thus far, while the Packers are 0-3. NOLA's next home game isn't until October 3rd so hopefully, they can have things figured out at the Superdome by then.
