The Green Bay Packers made some major changes to their offense this offseason. It appears they were not finished looking for ways to bolster their personnel during organized team activities.

Following an eventful offseason, former Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis found himself as a free agent. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, he has found a new home in Green Bay:

Former Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis has, in fact, signed with the Packers. Active free agent period continuing in May.

While Lewis isn't much of a threat as a receiver at this stage in his career, he does provide the Packers with a capable blocker at the tight end position. The Packers already made the move to essentially swap wide receiver Jordy Nelson for former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham this offseason. Prior to Lewis' arrival, Lance Kendricks was the only other reliable tight end on the Packers' roster behind Graham.

Despite being 34 years old, Lewis is coming off one of the best seasons of his 13-year career. He registered 24 catches for 318 yards and five touchdowns during the 2017 campaign. Although he is not good for much yardage, his size and athleticism make him a matchup nightmare in the red zone.

Lewis' best year came during the 2010 season when he hauled in 58 catches for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to earning a trip to the Pro Bowl. Although he is a far cry from the player he used to be, he could prove to be a viable contributor to the Packers offense if he can manage to stay healthy.
