Just two days after being cut by the Detroit Lions, Rick Wagner has already found a new home with the Green Bay Packers according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. This move also likely signals that Bryan Bulaga is gone.

The Lions originally signed Wagner back in 2017 and he played 40 of the possible 48 games at right tackle and was a solid player. Even though he was solid, that wasn't good enough for the contract he agreed to and the team released him in a cost-cutting move.

Wagner played at the University of Wisconsin and still owns a home in the state, so it makes a lot of sense for him to go home. Wagner is expected to start at right tackle. which means there probably isn't a spot for Bulaga on the team next season.

Bulaga had said a couple of weeks ago that he would like to finish his career with the Packers.

“I think anyone that knows me and knows my mindset about this, everyone knows that I would love to be back with the Green Bay Packers,” Bulaga said via Jason Wilde of The Athletic. “It would be, to me, really cool to start and finish my career in the same spot. I think that would be awesome. There’s no doubt about that.”

Bulaga also said that he would like to play a few more years in the league, but it appears now that will have to come with a new team. Bulaga is still a solid player, and some team is going to get a good offensive lineman.
