The Green Bay Packers are making moves to their practice squad. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers are signing free-agent linebacker BJ Bello to their practice squad. In doing so, Green Bay has two linebackers named BJ: Bello and Goodson.

Bello went undrafted out of Illinois State in 2017. At his Illinois State/Northwestern pro day, he recorded a 4.56-second 40-yard-dash, 33.5-inch vertical, 129-inch broad jump, 4.17-second 20-yard-shuttle and 6.71-second three-cone-drill. The linebacker measured in at 6-2, 228-pounds.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein labeled him as a future special teams player in 2017, saying:

“Bello's measurables and pro day results will get him a look in camp, but it may be as a priority free agent. He needs to be stronger and tougher to hold up as a 4-3 linebacker which is where he'll likely project. Teams could look to bulk him up and see if he could become a situational rusher off the edge, but he'll have to become a quality special teams player to make that a possibility.”

Since going undrafted, Bello has bounced around. He started his career with the Cleveland Browns, then the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and now Packers. In 2017, with the Browns, he played in 16 games as a special teamer, recording 294 snaps. He played in 46 special teams snaps with the Eagles in 2018 in three games played.
