The Green Bay Packers have ushered in some significant changes this offseason. Regardless, expectations still remain as high as ever while quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still under center.

There has been plenty of talk about the Packers' championship window dwindling with each year. According to Albert Breer of SI.com general manager Brian Gutekunst is planning to take things one year at a time.

“The more you’re around Aaron, you realize the bar is set really, really high,” Gutekunst said. “The expectations are always high. They always are around here, they always have been, but I don’t think in today’s football, with today’s athlete, especially a guy like Aaron . . . it’s just different, guys are playing longer, guys are taking care of their bodies differently. Every year is different. I don’t think you look at windows, I think you just look at it year-to-year.”

The fact that quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Drew Brees are still capable of competing at a high clearly gives Gutekunst confidence about Rodgers' playing future moving forward. He is hoping to be among the notable crop of signal-callers that plan to play well into their forties. This would give the Packers ample time to assemble a championship-caliber squad.

Unfortunately, time does not appear to be of the essence in Green Bay after they suffered a tremendous setback last year when they fell short of the playoffs. Their struggles finally compelled them to part ways with longtime head coach Mike McCarthy to bring in a new face in Matt LaFleur.

LaFleur is fully aware of the microscope Green Bay is under going into the 2019 NFL season. He will be responsible for helping to lead a potential resurgence on offense while trying to keep Rodgers happy. While he is still widely considered the most talented quarterback in the league, the 35-year-old will surely be looking for all the help he can get moving forward.
