Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy’s seat has been seemingly warm for most of the season, though, he still manages to keep his job. With the Packers suffering three losses over their past four games, further damaging their chances of making the playoffs, McCarthy must be feeling the pressure to get his team out of a slump. Otherwise, he might just lose the post he’s been manning for 13 seasons.

When asked about how certain he is of keeping his job despite the Packers’ ongoing struggles, Mike McCarthy opted to speak about his primary task, which is to lead Green Bay to the top, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN

Mike McCarthy, for one of the first times in his 13-year tenure, is asked about his job security. “I'm focused on what's in front of us,” McCarthy said. “We have a 2018 commitment and that's all I've ever focused on. “That's the job. That's the way this business has gone. That's part of the job responsibility. We set standard here the past 12 years and it's our responsibility to play to that standard.”

The Packers are looking to rebound from a 2017 campaign in which they failed to make the postseason cut, though, that didn’t cost McCarthy his job. However, if Green Bay misses the playoffs for the second year in a row, the Packers may be forced to move on from him.

Of course, that remains to be seen, but McCarthy knows that Green Bay should start winning if he wants to feel better about his chances of being the team’s coaches beyond this season.
