The Green Bay Packers were able to improve to 3-0 on the young season with a 27-16 victory at home over the Denver Broncos. It was a nice win and the defense once again looked great. Jaire Alexander had some bold statements after the game as well about the defense.

Following the win over the Broncos, Alexander was asked if he thinks the Packers' defense is the best in the NFL. Alexander made it very clear that he believes just that, as shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

While the Packers may not have the “best” defense in the NFL, they certainly have a good one. In all aspects, Green Bay has been able to frustrate opposing offenses. They can get to the quarterback, slow down the run, and make big-time plays in the secondary.

Mike Pettine has the personnel that he wanted to work with. He wasn't horrible last season in his first year as the defensive coordinator for the Packers, but he didn't have the right players in his system. Now, he has more speed and playmaking ability.

Green Bay has proven themselves to the rest of the league through the first three weeks. They have defeated the Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings. All three of those wins are quality wins.

Alexander and the defense will need to step up once again next week on Thursday Night Football against Carson Wentz and a dangerous Philadelphia Eagles' offense. If they can come away with another big performance and move to 4-0, it will be time to start talking about the Packers being Super Bowl contenders.
