The Green Bay Packers are preparing to host the Detroit Lions for an NFC North showdown in Week 6. It appears they may be at full strength in the backfield with the return of Jamaal Williams.

Williams has been sidelined since suffering a concussion against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, he has cleared concussion protocol and returned to practice:

RB Jamaal Williams has cleared the concussion protocol and was back at practice. C Corey Linsley also practiced on a limited basis but has not completely cleared the protocol yet. Kevin King (knee) also returned after not finishing the game.

This is certainly an encouraging update for the Packers. Williams had taken a devastating hit from defensive end Derek Barnett, who was flagged on the play and later fined by the NFL. Fortunately, he has made a full recovery and could be in line to make his return for their primetime matchup versus the Lions.

Running back Aaron Jones handled a healthy 26 touches during Williams' absence in Week 5 versus the Dallas Cowboys. He managed to make the most of them by recording 182 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in the win against Dallas.

Although Jones is clearly capable of handling workhorse duties for Green Bay, he had largely split touches with Williams thus far in the 2019 NFL season. The latter's versatile skill set helps him maintain a complementary role in the backfield.

The 24-year-old has registered 87 yards on 26 carries to go with eight receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown through the first four games of the year.
