Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham knows that his stats haven't been super impressive the last few years, but this season he is ready to “shut a lot of people up.” It's a new system with Matt LaFleur in charge and he thinks that is going to really help out his game.

Graham knows the opportunities are going to be there, and he needs to take advantage of every chance that he gets to prove people wrong.

“When I get those opportunities, I have to show him that I’m the biggest, fastest thing out there. I have to go up and get those grabs for him,” Graham said via madison.com. “I’ve been focused and I’m ready to get this thing started obviously. We have four more weeks here, but I’m about as fired up as I’ve ever been to go and shut a lot of people up.”

The Packers could have cut Graham this offseason but instead, they paid him a $5 million roster bonus back in March and he also wants to prove to the team that they made the right decision. Graham does think that the team did make the right call because he can thrive in the new offensive system and be a leader for some of the younger guys.

“This is an offense where they match up a lot of formations, and the run to the pass. And for me, that’s all good,” Graham said. “And, they like to use the tight end quite a bit. I think we’ve got a dynamic group of tight ends and we’ve got a good mix of veterans and young kids. I’m excited to see what we’re going to do this year. I really am.

“Everybody thinks I’m old and slow now, so, we’ll see what happens.”

Graham is doing a lot of talking and has a lot of confidence in himself but now he needs to go prove it to everyone on the field.
